History

Founded in 1981, the Association of Bridal Consultants has grown consistently since then. Its predecessor, the American Association of Professional Bridal Consultants, served the wedding industry for more than 25 years.
The Association of Bridal Consultants is a membership service organisation, designed to increase awareness of the wedding business and improve the professionalism of its members.
With members on six continents, the Association is a truly global organisation.

Code of Ethics

Members will:

• Represent each client fairly and honestly, providing all agreed-to services in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Establish reasonable, proper fees for services and provide written estimates to each client.
• Use honest, factual advertising
• Deal with employees fairly, in an unbiased manner.
• Operate an establishment that is a credit to the Association and the community.

Standards of Membership

Members will:

• Supply background information about his/her business, or other information essential to the Association's responsibilities to provide factual reports on the profession.
• Co-operate with Association activities and efforts to promote and improve the professionalism of the bridal business.
• Respond rapidly and honestly to complaints forwarded by the Association.
• Supply, on request, evidence on which advertising is based.
• Uphold the Code of Ethics and co-operate with the Association in all matters relating to it.
