FLOWER TIPS

HOW DO I CHOOSE FLOWERS?!

mm Your answers to the following questions might give you a some ideas to start with
mm Do you have a favourite flower?
mm Did your mum use a particular flower at her wedding?
mm Take a picture of your bridal gown for us (or your own florist) - the style of your dress can
mm influence the size, shape and colours of your bouquet

mm Flowers which are in season at the time of your wedding are less expensive than flowers
mm which have to be specially imported.

mm Highs & Lows - If you'd love tall impressive arrangements for your tables but your budget
mm won't stretch far enough - consider using a mixture of tall and low centrepieces. This can make mm the average price per table centre much lower but you still get some 'WOW' factor from the tall mm pieces, plus the low ones add more visual interest by drawing your eye to different heights
mm around the room.

mm Some white flowers or pale flowers bruise easily, therefore the cost of your bouquet may be
mm higher as the florist has to order more to ensure all flowers used are perfect.

mm Informal, hand tied arrangements are less expensive than traditional wired bouquets which
mm are very time consuming to make.

mm For flowers for your church and reception venue, think carefully about positioning.
mm A few large arrangements in strategic positions around the room - e.g. at the entrance or focal mm points in the room, will have more impact than lots of smaller arrangements.

mm You may not need lots of flowers at your reception venue. Be led by the decor of the room - mm modern rooms may be complemented by using single blooms and unfussy arrangements. Also, mm if you are having chair covers with coloured bows - the room will already be very striking and mm the tables may not need elaborate arrangements.

mm Do you have a favourite scented flower?
mm Each time you smell that bloom in future it will remind you of your special day.

We have lots of books and magazines on wedding flowers to inspire you.
You are welcome to browse through these at your leisure!
